Bristol Garden Office and Gym

Project Details

This project in Coombe Dingle, Bristol was a classic example of a client wanting to exit the house where he had a makeshift office and the usual distractions and create a dedicated space for working, combined with a place to exercise and included a small shower room and toilet.

Challenges and Solutions

The client cleared the space where the building was to be sited so the site itself created very few challenges for us except for the services we needed to connect to. The electricity supply was all the way around the front of the property, the water supply could only be taken from a first floor mains water service and the drainage was across the garden and at quite a depth. So a real mixed bag of services and trades needed but all planned and executed without any issues. The shower room and toilet added a great deal to this building and its use as an office and gym.


Quite a mixed use building and one that fitted the brief perfectly. Also another example of having to build close to the boundary on one elevation. It took up a very under-utilised part of the garden and because of its orientation, gave the client a perfect view of their garden. A very delighted client.
